The fishing area is varied and consists of reed coves, shallows and deeper places. In the area there are mainly pike and perch, but sea trout and rainbow trout can also be found. North of Djurholm's bridge, in the spring there are good opportunities to fish for sturgeon.

Björnholma village's fishing license waters are located in the middle of the Åland municipality of Brändö, directly adjacent to Hotel Gullvivan. The village's fishing waters are managed by the community and the availability of fish is ensured by the fact that large parts of the community's waters are protected from general fishing and therefore have low fishing pressure. The pick-up ramp is east of Hotell Gullvivan.
